The Tadrart Rouge is the southern extension of the Libyan Tadrart Acacus in Algeria and stretches 15 to 30 km from east to west and 150 km from north to south.
Bordered on the east and west by two channels, the massif links the Tassili n'Ajjer in the north-west to the Nigerien Djado plateau in the south-east. Culminating at 1340 m altitude, the massif is shaped by a series of wadis oriented from west to east to get lost in the erg of Tin Merzouga. In Djaren is the most important. Erosion has formed a large number of natural arches. The massif is well known for the flows of the dunes with colors varying from red to yellow passing through white.
